I recently wrote a tutorial on how to use RedSn0w to jailbreak iPhone 3.1.2. /rebates/&252fredsn0w-09-2-mac-download. Step 2: Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer. To make things easy, save those 2 files on your desktop.

Step 1: Download RedSn0w 0.9 for Mac or PC as well as the correct 3.1.2 firmware for your iPhone from here. And if you have baseband 05.11 on firmware 3.1.2 (you did a stock apple restore/update), then ultrasn0w won’t work there either. This RedSn0w tutorial was written for Windows but I assume the steps are identical for a Mac. However if you somehow have baseband 05.11 on firmware 3.0 (you went up to 3.1.2 then tried to come back down), ultrasn0w won’t do the unlock, even though redsn0w will work fine. If youre looking for a jailbreak for iOS 7.1, iOS 7.1.1 or iOS 7.1.2, then download Pangu jailbreak. And in both cases, redsn0w can be used to jailbreak, get Cydia, and install ultrasn0w. If you have baseband 04.26 on 3.1.2 (you got there through a custom IPSW), then that works fine for ultrasn0w too.

If you have baseband 04.26 on 3.0 (which you normally would at that FW version), then that works fine for ultrasn0w. Ultrasn0w right now is only for baseband 04.26.

redsn0w happens to know about both 3.0 and 3.1.2 firmwares, so it can jailbreak (or add logos, etc) to either. Redsn0w is a cross-platform jailbreaking tool for iPhone and iPod Touch. It just works with whatever firmware is there and ignores the baseband. Redsn0w itself doesn’t update the firmware, or the baseband. Two additional forensic challenges exist with regard to jailbreaking. I was a little confused about the baseband situation so I asked MuscleNerd directly. However, redsn0w 0.9.6b6 is effective on an iPad running iOS 4.2.1 and can also. RedSn0w 0.9.10b5 integrates crazeles feature which prevents iBooks to detect jailbreak that would cause in correct image display on. The iPhone Dev-Team have released RedSn0w 0.9.10b5 update to fix the iBooks bug on jailbroken iPhone 4, 3GS, ipad 2, 1 and iPdo Touch tunning iOS 5.0.1 and iOS 5. This release of RedSn0w supports all iPhone and iPod Touch models (still a tethered-only JB for late-model devices though) and runs fine on Windows and Mac OSX.Īt first, this version of RedSn0w was supposed to include the IPCC tethering hack but it seems it was causing issues so it was removed at the last minute. Download RedSn0w 0.9.10b5 to Fix iBooks Bug. Apparently, this release is now completely bulletproof. Download Redsn0w 0.9.2 Final to Jailbreak iPhone 3.1.2 OS It has been quite some time to iPhone 3.1.2 OS jailbreak and unlock tools release, as of now users have number of options like PwnageTool 3.1.4, Blacksn0w and the ultimate jailbreak & unlock tool Redsn0w for Windows & Mac. RedSn0w had been in beta testing for a couple of weeks now and the Dev Team worked on fixing the bugs. RedSn0w 0.9 is officially out of beta and is now available to everyone who wants to jailbreak iPhone 3.1.2.
